Day 1 – 4: Argentinian Patagonia

Day 1: Participants will arrive in El Calafate, Argentina (FTE). El Calafate, a small town with a population of 30,000, offers all necessary amenities. An introductory meeting will be held to outline the itinerary, locations, activities, and address any questions.

Day 2: We’ll embark on the journey to Los Glaciares National Park to witness the world-renowned Perito Moreno Glacier. Its immense wall of ice, meeting Lake Argentino, provides the opportunity to observe spectacular ice calvings from comfortable viewpoints and walkways constructed of industrial metal grid and railings. In the morning, we’ll marvel at the glacier’s calving phenomenon and enjoy panoramic views of the Andes and the glacier. Around noon, we’ll return to El Calafate and proceed to El Chaltén (220 km), a quaint village nestled at the base of the Fitz Roy Massif, where we will stay for the upcoming days.

Days 3 – 4: We will explore breathtaking locations offering scenic vistas of Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, and other attractions, including waterfalls, glacial rivers, and a deep desert canyon. Most locations are accessible by bus and short walks. Additionally, we will embark on a 2-hour hike to Laguna Capri, covering a distance of 5 km with an elevation gain of 400 meters (each way) to witness the sunrise near Fitz Roy. The timing of this hike will be determined based on weather conditions. Other destinations such as Mount Torre, lakes, waterfalls along the route to Lago del Desierto, and Lake Viedma will be visited according to weather and light conditions.

Day 5 – 10: Chilean Patagonia

Days 5 – 8: Following the morning shoot in Chalten on Day 5, we embark on a journey to Torres del Paine in Chile. The approximately 7-hour bus ride from El Chaltén to Torres del Paine National Park includes a border crossing into Chile. Once in the park, we’ll have the opportunity to capture stunning landscapes, including the iconic rock formation known as Los Cuernos (the Horns). Over our 4-night stay, we’ll explore various locations, with a focus on early mornings and dusk to capture the best lighting. Additionally, we’ll have the chance to photograph waterfalls, icebergs, and wildlife, ensuring a diverse range of captivating images during our time in the park.

Day 9: After witnessing the final sunrise at Paine National Park, we will transfer back to El Calafate, Argentina. As a group, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner and spend our last night together in Patagonia, reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences shared throughout our journey.

Day 10: Participants will depart on domestic and international flights, concluding our Patagonia Photo Workshop with memories to last a lifetime.
