Day 1 – Tangier to Chefchaouen
You should arrive in Casablanca the night before Day 1 of the workshop. In Day 1, after breakfast, we drive toward the picturesque Blue City of Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Along the way, we will make scenic stops for photography. Upon arrival, we begin exploring the charming blue-painted alleys and stairways, perfect for street and architectural photography.
Day 2 – Chefchaouen
Rise early for our first photo session, taking advantage of the soft morning light before the streets become busy. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, we continue sightseeing and wandering through the old city, discovering hidden corners, vibrant doorways, and daily local life.
Day 3 – Chefchaouen to Fez
An early morning session allows time for staged and creative shots before breakfast. We then check out and drive to Fez. Upon arrival, the rest of the day is free to explore the ancient medina, one of the world’s largest car-free urban areas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 4 – Fez (Riad Salam)
After breakfast, we visit the historic Chouara Tannery, operating for over 1,000 years. From panoramic viewpoints, we photograph the colorful dye vats and the traditional leather-making process. We then continue to explore two additional tanneries within the medina, along with surrounding markets and workshops.
Day 5 – Fez to Erachidia (Kenzi Rissani)
After breakfast, we’ll check out of the hotel and begin our journey toward Errachidia. As we leave Fez behind, the scenery gradually transforms — from the winding mountain roads and forested slopes of the Middle Atlas to wide open plains dotted with small villages and oases. The drive offers a chance to relax, take in the shifting landscapes, and enjoy the changing colors and textures of the countryside as we make our way deeper into Morocco’s southeast, toward the gateway of the Sahara region.
Day 6 – Erachidia – Draa Valley – Boumaine Dades
From Errachidia, we continue our journey into the striking landscapes of the Draa Valley — a region defined by sweeping date palm oases, fortified villages, and ancient trade routes that once connected the Sahara to Morocco’s imperial cities. As we follow the valley’s winding road, the scenery unfolds layer by layer, revealing rugged cliffs, lush riverbeds, and pockets of life thriving against a dramatic desert backdrop. From here, we travel onward to Boumalne Dades, where the terrain transforms again into towering rock formations and deep-cut gorges sculpted over millennia. This gateway to the Dades Gorge offers unforgettable views, warm desert light, stunning photographic opportunities as the day draws on.
Day 7 – Boumaine Dades – Erg Chegaga
After breakfast, we’ll check out and begin the long yet rewarding drive into the heart of the Sahara Desert, bound for the remote dune system of Erg Chegaga. The journey takes us deeper into Morocco’s wild south, where paved roads gradually give way to gravel tracks and open desert plains. The scenery shifts dramatically — from rocky plateaus and scattered acacia trees to the vast emptiness that signals our approach to the world’s largest desert. By late afternoon, we’ll arrive at Erg Chegaga, one of the most untouched dune fields in the country. After settling into our desert camp, we’ll head out to the dunes to watch the sun set behind the sand waves, bathing the landscape in warm, shifting tones of gold and copper. As darkness falls, the desert reveals one of its greatest treasures: an endless sky filled with stars. With no light pollution for miles, this is the perfect location to experience and photograph the Milky Way. We’ll spend the evening under the glittering night sky, capturing long exposures, stargazing, and soaking in the surreal stillness of the Sahara.
Day 8 – Erg Chegaga to Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the Sahara and begin our drive toward Ouarzazate. As we leave the dunes behind, the landscape gradually shifts from open desert to rugged mountains and mud-brick villages — a journey rich in changing scenery. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, we’ll enjoy a relaxed afternoon, taking a slow walk and gentle hike through the city’s historic corners and cinematic landscapes. We’ll also visit one of the region’s most iconic film locations — the famed backdrop for countless Hollywood productions — where deserts, kasbahs, and ancient architecture come together to create a setting made for the big screen.
Day 9 – Ouarzazate to Marrakech
After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a leisurely morning walk through the medina of Essaouira, exploring its labyrinth of narrow streets, whitewashed buildings, and vibrant blue accents. The medina comes alive with the sights, sounds, and aromas of daily life — merchants arranging colorful wares, the scent of freshly baked bread, and the distant call of the Atlantic Ocean. This is the perfect time to capture the city’s authentic character before it becomes busier later in the day. We’ll then have lunch by the beach, soaking in the coastal atmosphere, before beginning our drive toward Marrakech. As we leave Essaouira behind, the landscape gradually shifts from the breezy Atlantic coast to the rugged hills and open plains of Morocco’s interior. The journey offers a chance to relax, enjoy the changing scenery, and reflect on the unique charm of the coastal city before arriving in the vibrant heart of Marrakech.
Day 10 – Marrakech – Casablanca – Home
After breakfast and completing check-out from the hotel, we’ll embark on a guided tour of Marrakech’s lively medina, a vibrant maze of narrow streets, bustling souks, and historic squares. As we wander through this centuries-old heart of the city, we’ll immerse ourselves in the rich culture and traditions that define Marrakech, from the colorful displays of spices and textiles to the calls of merchants selling their goods. Along the way, we’ll meet skilled local artisans at work — from metalworkers and woodcarvers to weavers and pottery makers — gaining a first-hand look at centuries-old crafts that are still practiced today. Our guide will share stories about the city’s heritage, architecture, and cultural significance, helping us appreciate the medina not just as a market, but as a living museum of Moroccan history and creativity. Every corner, alley, and market stall offers a photo-worthy moment, making this tour both an enlightening and visually captivating experience. By 5pm we’ll begin our journey back to Casablanca. Along the way, you’ll have a last chance to take in the Moroccan landscapes one more time — from rolling hills and bustling towns to glimpses of the Atlantic coastline. Upon reaching Casablanca, we’ll proceed directly to the airport, allowing ample time for your departure formalities. As the journey comes to an end, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on the unforgettable experiences, vibrant cultures, and stunning landscapes we’ve encountered throughout our Moroccan adventure — memories that will stay with you long after the tour concludes.
