Lofoten in Winter 2025

After spending about 3 months in Lofoten, I’m now on my way back to the U.S. We successfully completed all 13 groups of the Lofoten Winter Photo Workshops! This year, I had the privilege of sharing this incredible experience with 150 participants from the USA, Canada, Singapore, Brazil, Germany, Sweden, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Together, we witnessed Lofoten’s breathtaking landscapes and some of the most spectacular aurora borealis displays I’ve ever seen.

A heartfelt thank you to all our collaborators, including Mark Denney, Rachel Jones Ross, David Swindler, Matt Suess, Isabella Tabacchi, Michael Choong, Danny Wong, Sam Wang, Zi Xiong Cai, and Guo Xian Xie, as well as our local operators, photo guides, and drivers: Arild Heitmann, Stian Klo, Odd-Are Hansen, Christian Høiberg, Frank Otto Pedersen, Klaus Axelsen, Thomas Vikre, Petter Sandberg, Fred Åge Hol, and Kim Jenssen.

This marks our 10th year of organizing photo workshops in Norway, and I want to extend my deepest appreciation to Arild Heitmann and Stian Klo, who have been incredible partners and friends throughout this journey. A special shoutout to my best friend, Odd-Are Hansen, who has been driving for my photo tours for 10 years, keeping everyone safe while also earning the title of Best Guide/Driver/Safety Officer/Singer/Dancer!

Looking forward to reconnecting with you all soon!

Registration for the Lofoten Winter Aurora Photo Workshop 2026 is now open! As the Sun approaches its ‘solar maximum’, we anticipate witnessing an increase in the frequency and intensity of the aurora borealis.

In 2026, we are thrilled to collaborate with renowned photographers such as Mark Denney and Sean Bagshaw. For further details, please visit: https://kahwailin.com/workshops/
