Day 1 – Casablanca
Arrive in Casablanca and transfer to the hotel for check-in. After settling in, we begin our journey with a visit to one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks, the Hassan II Mosque. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this architectural masterpiece offers outstanding opportunities for photography, especially in the late afternoon light.
Day 2 – Casablanca to Tangier
Depart Casablanca in the morning and travel north to Tangier. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off in the historic old city area. The rest of the day is free to explore the medina, port area, and surrounding streets at your own pace, capturing the unique blend of African, European, and Middle Eastern influences.
Day 3 – Tangier to Chefchaouen
After breakfast, we drive toward the picturesque Blue City of Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Along the way, we will make scenic stops for photography. Upon arrival, we begin exploring the charming blue-painted alleys and stairways, perfect for street and architectural photography.
Day 4 – Chefchaouen
Rise early for our first photo session, taking advantage of the soft morning light before the streets become busy. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, we continue sightseeing and wandering through the old city, discovering hidden corners, vibrant doorways, and daily local life.
Day 5 – Chefchaouen to Fez
An early morning session allows time for staged and creative shots before breakfast. We then check out and drive to Fez. Upon arrival, the rest of the day is free to explore the ancient medina, one of the world’s largest car-free urban areas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 6 – Fez
After breakfast, we visit the historic Chouara Tannery, operating for over 1,000 years. From panoramic viewpoints, we photograph the colorful dye vats and the traditional leather-making process. We then continue to explore two additional tanneries within the medina, along with surrounding markets and workshops.
Day 7 – Fez to Boumalne Dades
Check out in the morning and begin our journey south toward Boumalne Dades. The drive takes us through changing landscapes, passing through Erfoud and dramatic desert scenery along the way, with photo stops whenever conditions allow.
Day 8 – Boumalne Dades to Draa Valley to Erg Chegaga
Today we venture deeper into the Sahara Desert. We travel through the lush palm oases of the Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s most scenic regions, before continuing toward the vast dunes of Erg Chegaga, the largest dune system in Morocco.
Day 9 – Erg Chegaga
Enjoy a camel ride across the dunes, an unforgettable desert experience. As night falls, we prepare for Milky Way photography under some of the darkest skies in North Africa, capturing the stars above the sweeping sand dunes.
Day 10 – Erg Chegaga to Ouarzazate
Depart the desert and head toward Ouarzazate. Upon arrival, enjoy a slow walk and light hike around the area, well known as a filming location for many famous Hollywood movies. The landscapes here offer striking contrasts of desert, mountains, and ancient kasbahs.
Day 11 – Ouarzazate to Essaouira
After checking out in the morning, we continue exploring Ouarzazate before driving west to the coastal town of Essaouira. The journey transitions from arid landscapes to the Atlantic coast, offering diverse photographic opportunities.
Day 12 – Essaouira to Marrakech
After breakfast, explore the beautiful fishing port of Essaouira, known for its blue boats, bustling harbor, and coastal charm. Later, we travel to our final destination, Marrakech.
Day 13 – Marrakech
A full day to venture through the narrow streets and lively alleys of Marrakech. From vibrant souks to historic palaces and bustling squares, this city offers endless subjects for street photography. It is also an excellent place for shopping and cultural immersion.
